Signal to noise ratio is when signal is what you want to hear while noise is stuff that’s not the signal. When it comes to telephony, signal is the voice while noise is electrical noise and turns to static. The further the signal will go, the worse the problems get. An example of this is a Political speech filled with noise or a mom giving a lecture. Signals, the the idealist terms, would be ideal noise that blocks your ability to see, hear or feel it.

For Claude Shannon, information was related to uncertainty. The more uncertainty, the more information created. In English, the “U” following the letter “O” has no uncertainty and thus contains no information; if there’s a “q”, there’s always a “u.” English is full of redundancy, the redundancy can be quantified and subject to rules or algorithmic processes.
The Information theory is very indifferent to meaning. To me, I completely agree that information has to be related to uncertainty or no new information can be created due to the curiosity needed.

The Federal government directly funded a very wide range of military tools such as radars, jet engines, rockets, test studies, field studies and required top secret administration. Vannevar Bush, an American engineer, created analog computers that will soon be replaced by Lee DeForest, the inventor of the vacuum tube that will become electric computers. The audion computers allows amplification and variable output. Soon after Tim Berners-Lee inventor of the web browser that will be installed on every computer that allows freely exchanged, navigable and accessible of the new technology. This was the future for computers today.

Max webber and Montgomery Meigs was two of the key innovation of the industrial world for record keeping systems.

For the idealists, the purpose of life was to seek the ideal and to think everything was divine because it belonged to the gods. For realists, the did not believe there was an ideal somewhere. I personally am in the middle when it comes to labeling my self as either an idealist or a realist because I have no religious beliefs yet I do believe their has to be an ideal of some sort to make everything worth living for.

Bells Labs developed many important products such as data networking, communication satellites and my favorite cellular telephone technology. Without this technology our computers wouldn’t be able to exchange data, no signals for TV’s & telephones or being able to call, text or get news in matter of seconds. Theses few of many gadgets from Bells Labs started

Literacy is a medium means of defecting or conveying a message as a means of communication. “The medium of today is to show off” means how social media is used to “showoff’ all of todays world.

An idealist believes that somewhere there is an ideal for everything a model of perfection. They have religious beliefs and god’s music is ideal music. People are not ideal but are flawed copies of the ideal.

For idealist, the sunset is moving and is beautiful but the realist sees the sunset is the end to a day and uses all science.

In 1883 is when the US officially had organized “time zones.” This is when people realized this had less to do where you were on earth but more on telegraphic signals. This changed time and space completely. Now electric light is created for work hours to correspond to available light but electric light made work hours the same no matter what season. The biggest technological advance made in the 20th century was considered the telephone. I agree that telephone was the most important created. I believe this because in 2018 no one can even live without a phone. The phone has progressed jobs, families, and everyday life to extremes no one would even imagine in the 20th century. We use telephones to do even the simplest tasks like turn on electric light. Without phones the amount of networking going on today would not be available and force to improve all aspects of life everywhere due to this advancement.

In class we learned about why music today is “worse” than music back then. The reason for this is because of dynamic compressions which is when the music stays the same volume no matter how soft or low the singer sings. When listening to examples I never noticed this until hearing how when Ariana grande can hit a high note or get really soft but still be the same volume through the whole song. When listening to music from my parents generation you can clearly hear the volume of the music go up and down. Apparently why this generation has dynamic compression is due to the fact we believe louder music is better music.
